"Our Working Will Be the Work" is a silent, subtle performance where the artists, dressed as janitors, clean the event space in OHM Berlin during their performance. Mimicking the routines of actual cleaners, the performers start unannounced, clean quietly and move through the space. Gradually the artists interact with the audience by their cleaning moves such as asking them to shift and move aside, disrupting their comfort. By blurring the line between labour and art, the performance unveils the often-overlooked artistry and significance of maintenance work. Rooted in the migrated artists' lived experiences as part-time cleaners sustaining their artistic careers, this act transforms invisible into visible, defiant gestures -challenging power structures and underlining the resilience embedded in everyday acts of care and survival.
